Ahh- the thaw!! The subtle hints of spring- just a few buds that we found in the yards under the snows melt, the sound of the birds outside the window. Yep it is that transition time. I am sure we are not out of the woods yet with winter, but that sun sure felt good today!
And this week is my blogiversary! I started mamaroots this time of the year about 8 years ago and this week I started blogging 4 years ago! Growing and counting for sure!
I wanted to just say thanks to all you fantastic folks who read and grow with me. That is still the underlying theme of my name "mamaroots" growing and spreading roots together as mamas- when our roots all over intertwine we become one super strong grove!
I love to share a little give-away in my many thanks to you all for reading and letting me know that I am not just type/chatting to myself!
I am giving away a little growing pouch. I started with a simple wool felt envelope that I stitched together, added a little patch with my beloved fern and a much loved handmade wood branch button that is handmade from a loving mama in Tennessee. Inside I tucked away a little packet of Forget Me Not seeds, a little journal to track down observations of growing plants this spring, and lastly a little Spring Buddy!
Thanks to all of you for following, sharing and growing with me!
Just leave me a comment here between now and Saturday at midnight. Tell me some new ways you want to grow in the next year either with plants or in yourself!

Best of luck- we are enjoying these past few days hunting down Cottonwood buds! We have a few but the hunt is still on! Thanks Kristine from Herbal Roots for teaching us all about Cottonwood this month- gives us a whole new perspective for these giants next to our house!
