Warning . . . another mamaroots obession is brewing. Earlier this year I started wearing a button from a random collection of buttons that my mama gave me from my grandmother a few years ago. These are not a collectors worthy group of buttons- nope I come from midwest farm folks and these were cut off to be re-used some day buttons. Most of them plastic. To be honest my grandmother did not always let me play with my mama's things from when she was a girl, not sure why; but I liked to set up "shop when I stayed with them during the summer and the currency was always buttons.
So I just felt the urge earlier this year to tap into my grandmother when I was changing jobs and started wearing one of her buttons. I have considered it good luck. Recently I met an artist that turned beautiful vintage 18/19th century buttons into jewelry- and into the rabbit hole I fell!
So I have been looking for fun old vintage buttons for all of my hopefull knitted sweaters- heck I am almost half way there on my first one! So now that summer is officially here I thought it would be fun to have the "great summer button give-away" Each week I will give away either a set or just a few vintage buttons and will continue through the last day of summer in September. Okay honestly it gives me an excuse to go thrifting more but you should benefit as well!
Just follow me each Tuesday as I feature the current button(s) to be given away. Along the way I hope to share with you crafts, games, etc all featuring buttons!
First let me show you a couple of my favs from my grandma's buttons. This little swan button has always caught my eye, and I just adore this simple MOP (mother of pearl) white button. So since white seems to be the theme the first give-away is a set of fun vintage white buttons still on their original card- I love that!

Good luck and thanks for joining me in this current list of obsessions!
