I see it shining, it maybe just a wee little light, but there it is. Light in the end of the tunnel. I am so glad this week is almost at an end, the hardest of the month. Thank you so much everyone for you kind words of support. I feel your love. Through all the stress we are a family that is woven together.
Now I get to start sharing some of the brilliant moments from the past month that were still there, I was just too darned pooped to write about them! So let's pretend it is the end of July again and we are still talking about the fun Jasper had at Alpaca Camp. Yep- right in our own backyard as the crow flies is an amazing Alpaca Farm that runs summer camps.
My friend Ginny had been telling me about it for a couple years and this year I was on top of it and got Jasper signed up in time. He was able to learn about the Alpacas, help take care of them, and also do some spinning and weaving.
He was hooked by the end of the second day and started asking about where we could get a spinning wheel. Okay twist my arm, my oldest boy wants to learn more about making yarn. I see a combination of handspun yarn, handknit holiday gifts this year!
I think the pictures say it the best so here are some from his adventure with these lovely creatures.
We have decided to make it part of our home learning this school year to spend more time learning about fibers and spinning. We did a big purge last weekend and had such lovely support from our friends. We needed to make room for this new craft in our life and to know that it is our friends support that help make it possible makes us woven into a big heart shaped tapestry! Cheers and love to you all, especially the creative folks that make this camp happen- last photo is credited to the Alpaca Summer Camp folks.
