My goodness, what a joy today has been! In the the flurry that the holidays can bring, today has been a day of sleeping in, playing with presents and just relaxing at home. I am not sure where to even begin to send my thanks to all the lovely presents we received. From the hearts and hands of friends and family. The chocolates, teas, soaps, quilts, lotions, ornaments, scarves; all it pure love!
Just a glimpse of a few of the goodies we made this season brought some embroidered bookmarks for teachers, little ornaments for classmates. I was in an embroidery place and could not resist these little monster for my boys as well!
I enjoyed putting together some local chocolates, handmade chai, gingerbread, and ornament bowls for our family in a much loved red and white theme! I have a feeling I will be carrying this into Valentines, thank goodness there is plenty of red and white enamelware out there in the flea markets!
My favorite gift to the boys was a portrait that was painted by a wonderfully talented local artist. This was a surprise, she did it all from pictures. You should check out her work if you want a wonderful gift for your family. The tricky part was getting a picture of the boys not smiling to send her. My plan got us the picture I needed to send and also a fun picture for our holiday picture!
But of course my best gift is still my boys! Sweeter than any gumdrop or candycane in the world- holding them as close as I can this holiday.
Now if you will pardon me I have some Banagrams and Zombie dice games to play!
