The weekend is bringing in cooler weather here in the midwest and whilst hubby is on a backpacking trip for a few days, that means a fews things here: pumpkin carving, halloween costume making, at least one trip to the antique mall, frozen pizza and reading.
I wanted to give you a brief reading list today inspired by our bat friends. One of the cool things about being a state with tons of caves is tons of bats. We enjoy looking for them at sunset on our walks around the block! Top of the reading list is still Stella Luna. Jasper has enjoyed it and this little puppet that has been with us since the beginning of building our kid library. 11 years later it still brings a smile to his face! Here is the reading list for you to print and take to the library with you:
My reading list for you is all fiction- my favorite of course. There are oodles of great non-fiction bat books of course, but our continual favorites are the Golden Guides. Looks like we might have some bat reading/learning time happening this weekend. This beautiful embroidery is done by my sweet friend Mikayla based on Jaspers drawing from a few years ago- still one of my favorite ways to showcase our kiddos art!
One extra treat today for you is a chance to win a little wood Stella Luna I made. She is made with all natural maple wood. Leave a comment between now and Sunday night at midnight for a chance to win her. Bonus entry points for sharing, following me on Facebook or Twitter. Let me know your favorite bat book!
