Labor Day weekend was a flurry of getting Coleen ready for an upcoming music/art festival, sleepovers, and seasonal cleaning of boys rooms. This month I dedicated the calendar gnome to my eldest who has a September birthday and an incredible love of books as evidenced by the amount we pulled out from under his bed!
Yes of course I snuck in some reading time and trip to the fleas, but by far tackling the boys rooms for the fall clean was a big accomplishment. I warmed the boys up by watching a few episodes of Hoarders with me and then when it was time it was easy to clean! Insert evil mama laughter whaaaaaa. In the end we ended up with 1 bag of goodwill, 1 bag of trash, 2 loads of paper/box recycling and 2 very clean and organized rooms. Good gravy!
Colene is officially, scrubbed, bleached, old stickers removed, re-chaulked, waxed, has new curtains, the propane system is finally working, bleached out the water tank, still tinkering with hand pump, and she now has a vintage tea kettle and the start of her kitchen wares thanks to the fleas today!
So we labored hard this weekend working around the home this weekend as well as the girls. We are up to half dozen of our first eggs in the first week of laying, I don't think I will ever get use to the novelty on it!
So as the season starts to shift and we start to move towards fall, I made some of my more fall like scraps of vintage sheets into a table runner and added a new painted mason. It is so so simple that I think I might have to ban myself from the spray paint isle! Really could I resist a paint called pumpkin orange?? Night all!
