yep, I love my fella like Dobby loves socks! A simple Harryesque theme was requested for Jasper's birthday. Okay, twist my arm says I! It was not a full tilt Hogwarts extravaganza, but a nice gathering of family and buddies to celebrate a boy turning 10.
The day began early- seriously he never wakes up early, I think he was sensing the excitement! We do a little tradition of gold dollars or wood token making a path to a little candle on the morning of the birthday to a little candle and family hug and wish for the next year.
Jasper had a little gnomie waiting for him, I am feeling another type of wood set after seeing how easy it was to make the number gnome. He picked up 10 gold dollars along the way!
The evening welcomed friends and family and some fun foods such as: bat bones (pretzels), herbology platter (veges), socerer's stone soup (tomato basil soup), bread wands, toad in hole, frog guts (jello), pumpkin juice, and of course cake and ice cream.
I knew Dobby needed to rest upon his cake, he has both socks, you remember after he was freed by Harry, he took up knitting socks- often mis-matched. Yep die hard Potterhead here!
All in all I think he had a good birthday. When I looked into Professor Trewlaney's gazing ball, the future looked bright, and definitely a boy that just might be taller than his mama for real in a couple years!
Thank you for all the birthday wishes to my boy, and there are a few more pics here in case you want to see. Sweet dreams-
