shew wee, the lead up to and surrounding Labor Day weekend was a little different than I intended! So remember that spider bite we thought Silas had a couple weeks ago? Well it healed and then a couple days later more spots appeared on the arm, leg, face, so we thought hmm- maybe that was not a spider? Come to find out it was not, instead it was impetigo?
With great apologies to the spider kingdom we tackled the spots and had some early release heat days to boot. This gave Silas and I a chance to talk about and do some home learning.
The question of Labor Day came up and that led to another question about what he wanted be when he grew up- what would he labor at? He wants to be a farmer, a policeman, and wants to raise money for poor folks.
I thought that was noble and bought the monster creation from him that he could donate where he wants to help who he wants. He was so happy he wants to make more!
So as mama was laboring on her happy work this weekend, I set aside a scrap pile of wood that will be cut into several small monsters that he wants to make!
Definitely a new meaning to Labor Day! Hope your weekend was well and spent in the joy of your family. Thank you to everyone so much for your great support at the shop and at Rhythm of the Home.
Of course I can never view Labor Day quite the same since it always falls pretty close to my eldest's birthday. Just think, in a few days I would have been laboring a decade ago- wow!
