writers warning- very heavy picture post today- what can I say "I MADE JAM" and in case you can't tell from the caps, that is clearly a shout out from my little suburban home full of excitement! Yes I grew up descending from farm folks at their apron strings but never had done it as an adult you see. Big big thank you to my mama for spending her Saturday with me teaching me the jam making secrets!
So I am quite hooked and making more this weekend. The first batch- elderberry, and it was huge taught me that I did not need quite as much fruit- but left me lots of juice to freezer for the winter months. I also learned that a masher would be good! I am halfway to Christmas gifts with this batch for friends and family- that is something to shout about!
This adorable stamp came from this shop and will be adorning the cards- old school library style! Now I get to hunt down fun vintage fabrics for the toppers!
I can't forget to mention also how good elderberry syrup is on fresh cakes! These would be the famously requested "pantscakes and shirtcakes" made last weekend by daddy- he loves his boys so!
As I feel myself falling in-love with jam making, wanted to ask some experts out there, so what do you think of the copper jam pans- do they really make a big difference in the making and or taste? They are super pricey!
