Aug 9th, a date I had starred in my calendar. I have lots of little stars for books that are laying down. No they are not tired, it is a term we booksellers use in the industry meaning when a book is going on sale. I actually had a couple starred for today, one of which I have a feeling many of you are perusing today.
Rhythm of the Family went on sale today and my copy is lovingly resting next to my computer for some post boys bedtime reading. I loved seeing this book pop up in my book catalogs along with reading about the process via SouleMama. So far the projects that have caught my eye are the muffin and hankie bags! Congrats to SouleMama and SoulePapa for this new book that helps inspire us as we ebb and flow throughout our family rhythms in the year.
I thought it would be fun to use this as a way to share some of the rhythms of my own family. If you know me already you may remember that I am pretty busy and wear many hats. I have been a book buyer at a local bookstore for several years, well before I had my kiddos. I of course also have my two sons, and run mamaroots. So a couple little secrets is 1- I have a weakness for Redbull when I have a deadline to meet, and 2- lots of calendars.
Today I thought I would share a simple little calendar that we use to help us just on a day to day basis- it is my perpetual Waldorf calendar. Ours is a bit bigger than the mini version in the shop and the gnome is rainbow. He rests on the shelf in our kitchen- a major hub of activity in our house.
It is a simple little perpetual calendar that can become part of your morning rhythms. Your kiddos can re-set each day and it helps with math skills for little ones. Or, as in my home is a little part of my morning ritual before anyone else wakes up.
I make a much larger version of the Waldorf calendar, but can only make one once a month or so for the shop, so these little calendars fit in nicely and don't take me quite as long to make. I updated the choices to include seasonal gnome options as well.
So that is just one of my calendars- I will be sharing more this week. Just for fun and to celebrate some great new reading material I will be giving away 1 Waldorf calendar just like you see here. I have one jumbo gnome fella left that is just begging to be made!
Leave a comment between now and Aug 13 at midnight and I will draw a random winner on Aug 14th. Bonus entry for following me on facebook or sharing on your social media of choice.
Enjoy reading the new book, I am looking forward to it myself! I hope you will join me more this week as I share my other calendars with you!
