Thank you so so very much everyone for your kind words about the Waldorf calendar! I thought I would share another one of our calendars.
My boys go to a little public arts based school. It is was works for my family, but being hybrid as we are, we also do lots of learning on the homefront in the summers, afterschool, and weekends. You may remember our learning lists. It is when we sit down and decide what we want to learn about at home.
Over the summer the list was pretty free flow with daddy each day, but now that daddy is back at work and school is starting next week I knew it was time to start organizing again. In the past we just used a plain chalkboard. Even though I have been lusting after these awesome handpainted boards, I thought I could whip up something to use.
I took a standard chalkboard, you can track these down at Michaels, Hobby Lobby etc . . . I painted the wooden edge, using painters tape on the inside to spare getting paint on the chalkboard. I then took some non-toxic, waterproof paints intended for painting on Terra Cotta pots and did a quick design. I love the retro notebook paper themes and went with that.
Drilled a couple of holes and used a scrap of fabric to hold it and thus our new fancy learning board was all set.
As you can tell there is input from mama and input from the boys, I bet you can tell which is which! Total cost was less than $10. How about you- how do you organize your learning subjects with your kiddos?
