I haven't talked too much about the CPSIA lately, but there was a deadline for a regulation that recently came up. As of Aug 14 all products intended for children under 12 need to be labeled. Though it is a bit cumbersome navigating the ins and outs of the what and where on lables, I do support this so that folks know where a product is coming from, I like to know when I am buying stuff. Fortunately some guidelines came out clarifying that if your item is small you can label the packaging. My wood items are too small to get all of the information on it so I had a great Etsian custom make me some stamps to use on my packaging. I thought I would show you, as it looks a bit different than in past orders. For packaging I use muslin bags made in the US, on the front I usually like to put a fun stamp that coordinates with your product that you are buying, on the back now you will see at least one stamp with the tracking information: my company name, location of manufacture, item # and a DOM (date of manufacture) I add the item number and DOM after by using a standard numbering and date stamps from office depot. I am then internally tracking all the orders as of Aug 14 listing who bought the items and the non-toxic finishes. If the item is small you will also see the choking hazard stamp as well. I use the non-toxic wood/fabric ink that I discovered a couple years ago called Versacraft ink- it is heat set.
Hope you won't mind seeing this new info on your packaging, and this helps other folks working on their label system! If you are in need of stamps I highly recommend this Etsian- he was great and the stamps work wonderful!
